Order of medications
When patients have been prescribed multiple inhaled medications, to maximise their effect it is important that they are used in the correct order.
A general guide is:
Bronchodilator inhalers (e.g. Salbutamol)
Nebulised saline (isotonic / hypertonic)
Other inhaled medications (preventors)
*Nebulised antibiotics (Tobramycin, Colistin)
*The airway clearance routine should be done before inhaled antibiotics
